- BMW will offer a road-legal M Performance Track Kit for the M2, adding adjustable aero.
- The kit features a swan-neck rear wing with a 50mm rearward “Race Mode” position.
- The M2 CS gains an optional M Performance exhaust, reducing weight by around 8kg.
BMW is giving the M2 sharper teeth from July 2026, with the introduction of a factory-developed M Performance Track Kit designed specifically for track-day use, yet still road legal.
Aimed at drivers who regularly explore their car’s limits on closed circuits, the kit adds significant aerodynamic and chassis upgrades to the standard M2 while remaining compliant with road regulations when set to its street configuration.
Aero that actually works

The package includes a manually adjustable front splitter integrated with the diffuser, wheel arch diffusers and additional airflow management around the engine oil cooler. At the rear, a swan-neck wing inspired by BMW M4 GT4 and GT3 customer race cars features a dedicated “Race Mode” that shifts the wing 50mm rearwards to increase aerodynamic effectiveness.
When returned to “Street Mode”, the wing retracts to remain within legal limits. The angle of attack can also be adjusted, and the wing incorporates an integrated brake light.

Underneath, a threaded chassis with four-way adjustable rebound and compression damping allows fine tuning. Ride height can be lowered by up to 20mm front and rear. BMW says it’s the first special motorsport damper system of its kind that is also road legal.
Developed in BMW’s wind tunnel and fine-tuned by BMW M test engineer Jörg Weidinger, the system is designed to work cohesively with optional ultra-track tyres.
The Track Kit will cost €23,500 (NZ$46,300) plus tax in Germany, excluding installation.
More voice for the M2 CS

BMW has also released a new M Performance exhaust system for the M2 CS, which produces 390kW from its six-cylinder BMW M TwinPower Turbo engine. The revised exhaust routing enhances engine character across selectable modes, while carbon and titanium tailpipe trims sharpen the rear-end aesthetics.
Lightweight construction trims approximately 8kg compared with the standard system, with pricing starting from €8,343.50 (NZ$16,450) in Germany, excluding installation.
For M2 owners who feel the standard car isn’t quite edgy enough, BMW now offers a sanctioned pathway to something far more uncompromising, without handing in the number plates.
