The McLaren 720S was one of 2017's most incredible cars. Producing numbers and pace to rival the hypercar elite, it proved to be a hit with critics and buyers alike.
Although, there's at least one American-based 720S owner who's keen to sell their once loved investment.
A Michigan McLaren owner has listed his 720S (optioned with the stealth pack and sports exhaust, among other upgrades) for sale on Craigslist.
Only, they're not after money. They're after Bitcoins.
The owner is chasing a price of 25 Bitcoins (down from an initial price of 30 Bitcoins). Google tells me that that equates to approximately NZ$613,000 at the moment.
That ironically makes this a ... pretty average deal actually when 720S's retail new with a starting price of NZ$436,000. Even a fully optioned local 720S would struggle to eclipse $600,000.
For those who've been living under a rock, Bitcoins are a form of cryptocurrency that has experienced an almighty boom in value over the last year.
Don't know what cryptocurrency is? Ask a friend.
Those keen to survey the McLaren are asked by the seller to send 0.00001 of a Bitcoin first to "confirm the appointment".
That's about 25 cents, or five gummy Coke bottles from the dairy down the road.
