Range anxiety has plagued electric vehicle (EV) owners and potential buyers for a long time. Concerns with cruising range and charging station availability are valid, and the global industry has had much progress in rectifying this.
Kia, for example, is a company that has embraced the transition to electric mobility. It sells the Kia EV6, a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and compact SUV with much to offer.
We've learned that the EV6 Air Long Range has become the most popular variant in Kia New Zealand's EV6 lineup. This model achieves over 500 km of pure electric range.
“The launch of the EV6 was a game changing moment for Kia,” said Todd McDonald, Managing Director of Kia New Zealand.
“Thanks to its large 77.4kWh battery which delivers up to an impressive driving range of 528km WLTP, it offers driving freedom and removes concerns about range anxiety," he added.
In addition to ample driving range, the EV6 and its Air Long Range variant feature ultra-fast charging capabilities. With a DC 350 kW fast charger, you can top up 100 km on the EV6 in under five minutes.
More than that, the EV6 features a sleek, aerodynamic look characterized by futuristic LED lighting and sharp, angular lines.
Inside, the EV6 packs an assortment of in-demand tech, including two 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation. It also features Kia's latest driver-assistance system, which enables a safer ride with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and more.
The Kia EV6 Air Long Range is available in New Zealand from $79,990 and is eligible for the Clean Car Discount with a $7,015 rebate. The all-electric SUV has a five-year or 150,000 km warranty, eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, and five-year roadside assistance.
