On May 18, 2025, Mercedes-Benz is scrapping the entry fee to its Stuttgart museum for International Museum Day.

Visitors can explore the brand’s full heritage collection, free of charge, including its latest crowd-pleaser: the “Youngtimer” exhibition featuring ten standout models from the 1990s and early 2000s.

Themed islands like “Easy Life” and “Supersonic” frame the models in an era-specific setting, backed by retro-inspired arcade racing games and an AI-powered face-swap experience.

The nostalgia extends beyond the museum walls too - five young classics are parked outside in the underground garage, boxed up like life-sized Matchbox toys.

The Museum’s most curious resident is also making a comeback. “Andrea”, the futuristic android from Stuttgart Media University, will be mingling with visitors between May 13 to 18.

Fluent in eight languages and capable of disarming charm, Andrea engages guests inside Legend Room 6, which focuses on the transition to zero-emission mobility. She talks, answers questions and moves with surprising dexterity.

Sundays sorted

If you miss Museum Day, there’s still good reason to visit. Every Sunday until October 12, the museum hill transforms into a casual meet-up spot for vintage and classic car owners of all makes.

The “Classics & Coffee” event also returns with a lineup of themed gatherings, plus the launch of a digital group pass for easy sign-ins and perks.

Alongside the parked icons and casual banter, guests can book rides in classic Mercs or get advice from restoration pros at the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center.

So whether it’s robots, retro wagons, or roasting beans next to a Pagoda, the Mercedes-Benz Museum is clearly steering its history into the now with a little help from nostalgia and a flash of tech.
