Polestar confirms four new EV models by 2028.

Polestar confirms four new EV models by 2028.

  • Polestar plans four new models between mid-2026 and 2028, marking its largest product push.
  • The Polestar 5 grand tourer will begin deliveries from mid-2026 as the brand’s halo model.
  • A new 2 successor, expanded 4 range and compact 7 SUV follow by 2028.

Polestar is gearing up for what it calls the biggest product push in its history, with four new models planned to hit showrooms over the next three years, starting with the much-teased Polestar 5 grand tourer later this year.

The brand says the rollout is designed to put it “in the heart of the EV market”, and CEO Michael Lohscheller is leaning into the momentum. “Polestar continues to challenge the automotive industry, now by entering fast-growing and high value segments in record speed,” he said.

Deliveries of the Polestar 5, the four-door grand tourer (GT) first shown in 2025, are due to begin from summer 2026. Lohscheller labels it the brand’s “halo car”, adding: “Polestar 5 is our brand halo car, bringing a new level of performance and luxury to the grand-tourer segment. With incredible handling and a lightweight bonded aluminium platform, the four-door GT has already received fantastic reviews, as part of its launch tour across Europe.”

DRIVEN Car Guide understands Polestar has not disclosed power outputs, battery capacity, range figures or local pricing yet.

Next on the timeline is a new variant of the Polestar 4, with deliveries expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2026. Polestar describes it as aimed at a wider customer base, promising “more versatility” while sticking with the same underlying technology as its current best-seller.

Lohscheller hints at the vibe Polestar is chasing: “We are combining the space of an estate and the versatility of an SUV with the dynamic performance that is Polestar.”

The big two: a new Polestar 2 and a compact SUV

In early 2027, Polestar plans to roll out a “completely new successor” to the Polestar 2, its foundational model, with “over 190,000 cars sold”, according to Lohscheller.

“Bringing the next generation of this iconic car in record speed, by the start of next year, is very exciting,” he said.

Then comes Polestar 7 in 2028, a compact premium SUV the company says will be built in Europe.

It’s targeting a segment Polestar claims represented about one-third of Europe’s battery-electric volumes in 2025, with Lohscheller promising “a progressive performance-driven car for a very attractive price point, built in Europe.”

On the business side, Polestar says 2025 was its best year for retail sales, and it’s aiming for low double-digit retail volume growth in 2026 alongside a 30% expansion of its retail network.
