SUV large enough to carry everything we typically buy for our small lifestyle property. EV with sufficient range to comfortably travel between Katikati and Wellington. Adaptive cruise control. It has fulfilled all of those needs.
What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.
We were happy with our Honda CRV, except that our frequent trips to Wellington were becoming too expensive. So the main appeal was to remove our fuel costs. Having viewed other EVs, this was the first one that has equivalent specs to our CRV but had even more capacity.
What have you discovered since owning the car?
It is very customizable and consequently it took some time to adjust it to how we like to drive. Many of the settings were not intuitive to start with.
What do you like/dislike about the car?
We love how it has simplified features like starting to drive, reverse, park and start adaptive cruise control. It's reasonably quiet and the sound system is excellent. However, the lane control and collision avoidance systems are WAY too sensitive, resulting in a loud squawk if we touch a side or centre line, or braking when least expected. I absolutely hate these features, which cannot be disabled except on a one off basis for each trip. It's the only car I have ever cursed!
Any other comments on the car?
I love most things about this car except the lack of being able to disable the lane control and collision avoidance systems. Tesla could easily fix this in one of the online updates. I live in hope...

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?
It meets our needs and is exceedingly economical to run. It has some really nice features, like being able to precondition the inside temperature remotely by using the app.
