Bentley is filling in another piece of the Torcal puzzle ahead of the new model's full reveal, detailing how a long-running diamond motif will connect its physical grille with its digital displays.
The latest preview does not show the complete Torcal. Instead, it concentrates on two closely related design elements: a new floating-diamond grille and graphics generated with the help of hand-cut crystal.
A century of diamonds
Bentley traces the motif back to the protective wire mesh fitted in front of radiators on its cars during the 1920s. The diamond pattern has since moved well beyond that original functional role.
Later interpretations have appeared in switchgear and stitching, as well as the Brooklands grille, Bentayga lighting and Continental GT interior details. For the Torcal, Bentley says the grille will give the diamond form a floating treatment, adding a new layer to a familiar brand signature.
It is a deliberate piece of continuity for a vehicle that has so far been revealed one chapter at a time. Bentley has named the Torcal, but specifications, pricing and New Zealand availability have not been disclosed.
Crystal enters the cabin
The same theme will extend into the Torcal's digital displays, although Bentley did not simply draw a diamond pattern on a computer.
Its design team worked with Cumbria Crystal to produce bespoke, hand-cut objects. Light was then passed through the crystal to create the source material for the screen graphics, retaining the depth, movement, texture and natural imperfections of the physical pieces.
That analogue starting point is intended to keep the digital treatment connected to the craftsmanship found elsewhere in the vehicle. It also gives the graphics a character that would be difficult to reproduce through perfectly uniform computer-generated shapes alone.
September reveal approaches
Bentley will unveil the Torcal in full in London on 23 September 2026.
Until then, this design-focused preview gives the clearest indication yet of how the company plans to translate one of its oldest visual signatures into a new physical and digital form.
