One-off Ferrari keeps V8 spirit.

One-off Ferrari keeps V8 spirit.

  • Ferrari’s HC25 is a one-off roadster based on F8 Spider architecture.
  • Its 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 produces 530kW and 770Nm.
  • Ferrari claims 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds and 340km/h.

Ferrari has unveiled the HC25, a new one-off roadster created through its Special Projects programme and shown publicly at Ferrari Racing Days at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.

Designed by Ferrari Design Studio under Flavio Manzoni, the HC25 is based on the architecture of the F8 Spider. That means it keeps the mid-rear-mounted internal-combustion V8, chassis and basic layout of the last open-top Ferrari to use a non-hybrid turbo V8 in that position.

F8 roots, future-facing suit

While the foundations are familiar, Ferrari has given the HC25 a very different visual brief.

The company describes it as a bridge between the end of its mid-rear V8 spider lineage and the sharper design language seen on newer halo models such as the 12Cilindri and F80.

The body is finished in matt Moonlight Grey, contrasted by a glossy black central band that wraps through the car. That dark section is not just theatre, either. It incorporates key cooling and heat-management elements, including radiator intakes and extraction for the powertrain.

The side profile is dominated by an arrow-like sweep running from the rear wheels, over the door and back towards the rear screen. Even the door handle is tucked into a long solid-aluminium blade, because apparently a normal pull handle would have been far too obvious.

Slim lights, big details

Ferrari has created bespoke front lamps for the HC25, using modules not previously seen on one of its cars. The daytime running lights adopt a vertical layout for the first time, forming a boomerang shape along the front wings.

Yellow Ferrari logos and brake callipers are mirrored inside, where technical grey fabric is paired with yellow graphics. The wheels use a five-spoke design with a diamond-finished outer rim and dark-toned spokes to emphasise their diameter.

Still seriously quick

The HC25’s 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 produces 530kW at 7000rpm and 770Nm at 3250rpm, sent through a seven-speed dual-clutch F1 gearbox. Ferrari lists a 340km/h top speed, with 0-100km/h taking 2.9 seconds and 0-200km/h in 8.2 seconds.

As with all Ferrari Special Projects cars, this is a true one-off, developed with a single client over a lengthy design and verification process. DRIVEN understands Ferrari has not disclosed the owner’s identity or the HC25’s build cost yet.
