The BL.001 is back, brighter and even rarer than before.

The BL.001 is back, brighter and even rarer than before.

  • Lamborghini and Babolat have revealed five new BL.001 padel racquet designs.
  • The updated BL.001 is limited to 50 units and built at Sant’Agata Bolognese.
  • The racquet uses a 3K carbon surface and Koridion-reinforced frame.

Lamborghini has again strayed from the garage and onto the court, teaming with Babolat on a fresh run of its BL.001 padel racket.

The limited-edition racket returns for 2026 with five new colour variants, revealed at Lamborghini Arena. Just 50 units will be produced, so yes, this is very much the kind of sporting equipment that may spend more time in a collector’s display than being scraped across a court wall.

From supercars to smash shots

The BL.001 continues the partnership between Automobili Lamborghini and Babolat, blending the French brand’s long history in racket sports with Lamborghini’s experience in engineering, composites and high-performance design. It follows the BL003 revealed earlier this year, though this latest release loops back to the BL.001 that launched the partnership in 2024.

For this latest version, the focus is colour and finish. Lamborghini says those elements are central to its identity, and the new variants are designed to express the brand’s more dramatic visual side. In other words, subtle beige was probably not invited to the meeting.

The racket is manufactured at Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese facilities, using processes and materials inspired by the marque’s super sports cars.

Carbon fibre, naturally

Underneath the bright finishes, the BL.001 is still pitched as a serious padel racket rather than a pure branding exercise.

It uses a 3K carbon surface, chosen for responsiveness, power and precision. The frame is reinforced with KORIDION, a rigid foam derived from patented technology, which is designed to increase structural stiffness and improve energy transfer at impact.

Babolat and Lamborghini say the racket is aimed at demanding players, with an emphasis on control and on-court feel. That should at least help justify the likely “don’t ask” pricing strategy.

Imola gets first hit

As with the first BL.001 unveiling in 2024, the new edition will be presented and tested at Lamborghini Arena 2026, held at Imola Circuit on May 9 and 10.

Media, influencers and members of the public will be able to see the racket in action at the event, giving Lamborghini another way to stretch its performance identity beyond cars.

It may not have a V12, a carbon tub or a launch-control button, but the BL.001 is clearly built to speak the same language: light, stiff, loud-looking and limited enough to make collectors twitch.
