  • BMW's new 3 Series range reaches NZ from Q1 2027, starting at $99,900.
  • Electric i3 50 xDrive costs $128,900, placing it $12,000 below the petrol M350 xDrive.
  • Local petrol models include adaptive M suspension, a panoramic sunroof and heated, ventilated front seats as standard.

BMW has confirmed New Zealand prices for the new 3 Series, with three launch models arriving from the first quarter of 2027.

The petrol 320 opens the range at $99,900, followed by the electric i3 50 xDrive at $128,900 and the six-cylinder petrol M350 xDrive at $140,900. All three recommended retail prices include GST and exclude on-road costs.

The local announcement follows this week's global reveal, which showed the shared Neue Klasse styling of the combustion and electric saloons but left NZ pricing and arrival timing unconfirmed.

At $128,900, the i3 50 xDrive carries a $29,000 premium over the 320 while undercutting the M350 xDrive by $12,000. It also has the highest power output of the local launch trio, producing 345kW and 645Nm, with a quoted 0–100km/h time of 4.7 seconds.

BMW claims up to 912km of WLTP range for the i3. Its 800V electrical system supports DC charging at up to 400kW, while the New Zealand specification includes 22kW AC charging.

The entry-level 320 produces 155kW and 330Nm, reaching 100km/h from rest in a quoted 7.4 seconds. The M350 xDrive's six-cylinder petrol engine and 48V mild-hybrid system deliver 326kW and 580Nm. It is the quickest of the three by BMW’s quoted acceleration times, taking 4.1 seconds to reach 100km/h.
